﷽
• And thinking they are silent, they say nothing. On the contrary, some people oppose those who prevent evil and say, "What do you mean by this?" However, it is incumbent on all people to stop this evil. If they do not stop in spite of their power, then torment will fall on everyone. As is the hadith narrated from Ibn 'Adi Kundi, may Allah be pleased with him. The Holy Prophet Muhammadﷺ said:
• Allah Almighty does not punish all people because of the deeds of some people unless they see evil deeds happening among themselves and do not stop them with the power to stop it. If they did, Allah almighty would punish everyone in general and in particular. That is, if some people commit a sin, Allah Almighty does not punish others for it, but to remain silent in the face of evil And not erasing it is such a sin that it brings torment to both the evildoer and the silent. Because of evil on the doer of evil and because of the silence of those who remain silent. And in Tirmidhi Sharif, a hadith has been narrated from Hazrat Hudhaifah, may Allah be pleased with him The Holy Prophet Muhammadﷺ said:
• I swear by the One in Whose hand is my soul, You must enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. Otherwise, Allah Almighty will soon send upon you a torment from Himself. Then if you pray to him, your prayer will not be answered.
• And the hadith of Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah. Hazrat Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
• If a man of a people commits a sin among them and they have the power to stop it but do not stop it, then Allah Almighty will send punishment on them all before they die. Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Haq Mohaddess Dehlavi Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) writes under this hadith. It is known from this hadith that there will be torment in this world as well as in the Hereafter because of enjoining good and refraining from evil. Unlike other sins, they do not have to be punished in this world
• In Bayhaqi Sharif, it is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammadﷺ said:
• Allah Almighty commanded Gabriel (peace be upon him) to overthrow such and such a city and its inhabitants. Gabriel (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: O my Lord! So Allah Almighty said, "I command you again to overthrow the city on him and on all the inhabitants, for his face, seeing his sins, did not change a single moment for my pleasure."
• Hazrat Abdul Haq Mohaddess Dehlavi Bakhri writes in the commentary of this hadith. It is a great sin not to change the color of one's face in order to please Allah Almighty by looking at one's sins. That is, he ordered the punishment of this virtuous servant first and the order to punish the sinners later
• And when someone is silent, people start saying that there are so many great scholars and elders, but they do not forbid anyone. The one who stops and forbids you. Don't they go to the world? If it was wrong, they would forbid it. In that case, those who remain silent and do not stop seeing evil will deserve more punishment.
